Wilson Barros studied cinema at the University of São Paulo, and, before becoming a director, was a screenwriting teacher at the same school. He is part of a great generation of São Paulo based cinema. After furthering his studies at NYU, Wilson made "Angels of the Night" in 1987, for which he won many of Brazil's most prestigious film awards and toured festivals across the world.
